Hi, I’m Willa—steward of Moon Rock Flowers.
As a passion project, I grow thousands of flowering plants—from springtime bulbs to seed-started annuals, medicinal herbs to woody perennials—all in our rocky yard.
Started as an offshoot of The Strange Foundation, Moon Rock Flowers is an experimental, 100% organic series of DIY mountainside gardens cultivated on what used to be a riverbed. We compost, keep chickens and bees, and use no-till practices to enrich this land we call home. We’ve been slowly expanding our plantable space since we moved here in 2018, and now steward about an acre of gardens—including raised beds for vegetables, a small flower field and orchard, several pollinator patches, as well as the pond-side plot we call “Strange Gardens,” where our Gardener Residents are invited to contribute their labor and creativity to what’s emerging into a collectively cultivated patchwork.
Overall, Moon Rock Flowers is driven by a passion for growing and sharing flowers. If you’d like some wild blooms in your life, reach out: [email protected] 💌

In my practice, I seek out plants that are unusual, textural, and environmentally beneficial. Every arrangement I make celebrates flowers as symbols of all the magic planet Earth has to offer, if only we work with her.
